Meet the Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself by sharing information about my educational philosophy, professional experiences and personal background.

Educational Philosophy
Building positive relationships and establishing excellent communication are the keys to student success. Research shows that schools operate best when there is a strong bond with the parents and community and that we must work collaboratively to educate our children. Therefore, as the Wings Charter School Administrator my door will always be open for you to visit with me about what is best for meeting your child’s academic needs.
Parents, educators and administrators must jointly hold high expectations for all students to learn to their fullest potential. Effective teachers believe that all students can learn and be successful. In the regular classroom, students’ abilities vary greatly. Educators must differentiate instruction so that all learners are challenged in a safe, supportive learning community. Teachers must make every effort to know their learners in order to meet their diverse needs. The strengths of each student must be emphasized and used as connectors to help bolster areas needing improvement. Parents and teachers must work together to identify these strengths. Our children will succeed if we refuse to let them fail.
“I make a difference! “I care about students and their education!” These statements have always been my personal motto. I believe that children hold the promise of the future and quality education is the key to their potential success. My varied work experiences have given me the opportunity to have a positive effect on learning and promote quality, learning- centered school experiences for students at all levels. My life challenges and experiences have taught me that education is the world’s most important work. In our fast-paced and changing world I believe it is imperative to promote the love of learning that connects us to the reality that education is a lifelong process. In this lifelong process, I also believe that it is most important to enjoy the journey.
Professional Experiences
I graduated from Buhl High School and then earned my associate’s degree in Business Mid-Management/Marketing from Boise State University. I also earned an associate degree in Accounting and was employed part-time doing payroll and accounts receivable while raising my children. After earning an associate degree in Elementary Education Grades K-8 at the College of Southern Idaho, I enrolled at Idaho State University to complete my Bachelor of Arts degree. After teaching for twelve years at Buhl Middle School, I received my Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho. As the assistant principal for Lincoln Elementary in Twin Falls, I earned inclusion into Cambridge Who’s Who Among Executive and Professional Women Principals in Education and the Shining Star Award from Twin Falls School District for my financial management responsibilities. For the past few years, I have been the principal at Kimberly Middle School.
Personal Background
I have two adult children, Ryan and Larissa. I have an eighty-acre farm and spend my time watching sporting events, concerts, etc. My weekends are spent camping; I especially like “tearing it up” on my Suzuki King Quad four-wheeler. Otherwise, I like to get together with friends often.
I am looking forward to this exciting adventure of administrating the WINGS Charter Middle School where we can provide a tailored learning environment for those bright, underachieving students who so often fall through the cracks. I am also looking forward to meeting you!
Cordially,
Letha Blick, Administrator
Wings Charter School
